THE 3 C’s OF A FRAUD:

For a person or group of people to "get away with fraud", they must successfully complete the three C’s of a fraudulent act:
1. They must be able to Commit the fraudulent act without immediate detection that the fraud has occurred.
2. They must be able to Convert the fraudulent act into a usable currency or another usable medium (i.e. wine collection, art, boat, etc.)
3. They must be able to Conceal their fraudulent acts or their future currency use (or other medium use) from later detection.
Most crooks to varying degrees are able to achieve #'s 1 & 2 above, but fortunately they slip up under number 3, and are eventually detected.
